Clean water is very cool (bae) and Aveda thinks so too. Check out all these neat things that Aveda has done to protect clean water…

  • Since 1999, Aveda has raised more than $50 million to help support organizations that directly affect environmental change, more than $44 million has supported projects that protect clean water at home and around the world since 2007.
  • Last year alone Aveda raised $6.4 million and their goal this year is $6.5 million!
  • As part of Earth Month in April, Aveda donates 100% of the purchase price, of the signature limited-edition light the way candles™ to Global Greengrants Fund for water-related projects in 85 countries.
  • Since 2007 Aveda has helped 920,000 people with water-related projects.

We’ve decided to help Aveda reach their $6.5 million goal, by becoming our own clean water advocates!

For the 3rd year in a row Sheboygan area Aveda Concept Salons; Entourage, Salon Sase, and Nouvelle are teaming up to walk for water along beautiful Lake Michigan. Proceeds will support the Alliance for the Great Lakes whose mission is to protect our great lakes through volunteering, education, and research to ensure the lakes are safe for all. Additionally this walk will also support a local cause close to many hearts, the Sheboygan County Humane Society. Bring your well-behaved furry bae to join on this Sunday morning stroll! (Word on the street is that there will be Zelda’s K9 treats)

The walk begins and ends at Harbor Lights Bar on Sunday, April 23rd from 10 am to 12 pm. We will walk along the bike path and provide gloves and garbage bags to those who want to keep Ms. Lake Michigan looking fresh and clean. Not convinced yet? Well what if I tell you there will be Bloody Marys and food trucks at the finish line…maybe now I’ve changed your mind. (insert thinking emoji here) There will also be a silent bid table before and after the race, maybe your competitive spirit and a bloody in each hand will help you win something!

You can register for the walk at any of the three participating salons or right before the walk at 9 am on Sunday. The fee is $25 per clean water advocate which will get you a t-shirt, water, and a travel sized hand relief.

Got a family reunion or a kid’s volleyball tournament and can’t make it? Well you’re lucky we thought ahead, because naturally we think of everything. You can contribute to the Great Lakes Alliance via pledging money at one of the three salons. You may even receive a small gift for your troubles with your pledge. Hint Hint it’s probably something Aveda and you’re going to love it.

Come one, come all to Harbor Lights on April 23rd for Sunday Fun Day with Sheboygan’s finest clean water advocates! It would be ‘bae’ if you could make it.
